Gemini Planet Imager (GPI): Cleared for Shipment to Gemini South!

In a milestone statement distributed moments ago by the GPI Pre-delivery Acceptance Review Committee, Chair Stephen Goodsell announced that GPI is now clear for shipment from the University of California Santa Cruz to Gemini South in Chile.The Committee’s final report is slated for release on July 26th, but a statement sumarizing the results of the review is available now - GPI Review Committee: Final Day Statement  41 KB

Gemini North ODB offline Sep 11-17

UPDATE Sep 17 @ 4:00pm - the Gemini North Observing Database is back online. Please file a Help Desk ticket if you encounter any problems.

UPDATE Sep 17 @ 8:30am - the new hardware has been installed and we are working with the vendor to resolve network issues. We are hopeful that the GN ODB will be back online later today.

UPDATE Sep 16 @ 8:15am - work is ongoing, and we are still offline. Will post an update when we have more details.

Mask-making Software

The current version of the GMOS Mask Making software (GMMPS) is v0.4.1, released in 2014-08-27 for Linux and Mac OS X. This is an interim version to provide support for the new Hamamatsu detectors in GMOS-S. It is not yet fully backwards compatible (see below).

Caution !! VERY IMPORTANT NOTE for GMOS-S users, concerning the Hamamatsu detector upgrade -- PLEASE READ !!

Gemini Frontier Field: First Data Now Available
