Baseline calibrations are taken at the end of the night. They are not charged to the program.

NICI baseline calibrations are GCAL flats for every used filter and mask combination, and darks for all used exposure times. Additional daytime calibrations, such as imaging of the pinhole grid in the Calibration Slide to measure the registration of the two science channel detectors can be requested.
