Infrared detection of the cold brown dwarf
An infrared image of the cold brown dwarf BDR J1750+3809 taken with Gemini North’s acquisition camera for the Gemini Near-Infrared Spectrograph (GNIRS) and Gemini’s Near InfraRed Imager and spectrograph (NIRI).
The image is a color composite showing the infrared filters in chromatic order, which is why the brown dwarf appears blue.
