The International Telescopes Support Office in conjunction with the Australian Astronomical Observatory held the 2016 ITSO/AAO Observational Techniques Workshop from midday on Tuesday May 3 to midday on Friday May 6, 2016 at the AAO Headquarters in North Ryde, Sydney.
The workshop was designed to be an introduction to the optical and infrared facilities available to the Australian astronomical community, and included tutorials and demonstrations where participants were able to get their hands on real data and learn how to reduce it.

The Australian Gemini Office in conjunction with the Australian Astronomical Observatory held the 2011 AusGO/AAO Observational Techniques Workshop over three and a half days from Tuesday August 30 to Friday September 2, 2011 in the ATNF Marsfield Lecture Theatre in Sydney.

NOAO Gemini Data Workshop: July 19 - 22, 2010
Gemini Observatory and the US National Optical Astronomy Observatory organized a Gemini Data Workshop from 19 to 22 July, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. Registration was free and open to anyone. The workshop covered the basics of astronomical data reduction, presented information on all the GMOS modes, NIRI, NIFS and Mid-IR data reduction and included breakout sessions that focused on the practical aspects of reducing Gemini data using the Gemini IRAF data reduction package.
